Episode 37: Brian Watson – Proximity
I am happy to have Brian Watson from Proximity return to share an update of what they have been up to since we last talked on Episode 7.
Based on the Western Slope, Proximity strives to help connect the world’s mobile workforce through an innovative combination of hardware and software that manages coworking spaces across the world. At the time we recorded this episode Proximity is being used in over 350 co-working locations and makerspaces in the USA and abroad.
The remote workforce is growing year over year and estimates are that 50% of the US workforce will be remote in the next few years. Co-working provides a sense of community that many remote workers miss when ditching the traditional office. Proximity provides turnkey solutions as well as best practices and coaching to co-working operators.
Brian is an entrepreneur, connector, and community developer. He has been starting and running businesses since he was 17 and believes that entrepreneurship is the greatest tool we have to positively impact our communities.
Brian talks about how small and rural communities are leveraging co-working spaces as an economic development tool and how Proximity is helping them build digital density.
